“But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.” Luke 7:47 NRSV

Thought

You strangle the growth of love when you cannot forgive yourself. If you hold yourself blameless throughout life, likely you look to others for the cause of most of what impacts your life negatively. The effect is small love. To grow forward in love and one day graduate from grief, you commend your experience of death to the perspective of the past, enlarged to include your humanness.

Prayer

God, it is easier to blame others for the reversals in my life. I pray that you will instruct my heart in forgiveness, so that I may forgive myself and then others. Amen.

Assurance

I will look within to forgive myself.
