Emotional: Day 6

Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
Psalm 30:5 NRSV

Thought

For a while, grief may seem like an eternal night. As slowly grief releases its insistent hold on your life, the receding darkness of night yields to dawn. Dark clouds slowly drift and whisper away as they pass. Hope creeps imperceptibly onto the horizon as you greet the new day of the rest of your life with expectation and tentative joy—your soul again enlivened by the warmth of joy.

Prayer

God, you have made the night and the day so that I may live in darkness as well as in light. You know my tears in the night of my grief. And now my heart awaits the joy of morning. Amen.

Assurance

With acceptance I resolve to give up fear, take on trust, and spend my life in gratitude rather than grief.
