Pain and sorrow are vanquished by faith. Death is rendered powerless as you, at last, pass through the valley of the shadow of death in full faith and grief is no more. Death does not leave you ambivalent in your resolve to claim new life in the victory over death. God’s saving grace through Christ is freely given to you through faith. Thanks be to God for the gift of life and eternity. “The righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, ‘The one who is righteous will live by faith’ ” (Romans 1:17 NRSV).
