In grief, you come to understand that if God has arranged for birth and life, God has arranged equally well for death and grief. Death is not termination but transition. Death is not the end of life. Rather, death is an eternal transaction. As you say farewell here on earth, God says welcome on the distant shore. When there is night here, somewhere else there is dawn. The God of your faith is the God of eternity. Eternal life is worth the good fight of faith. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7 NRSV).
