If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and the light around me become night,”
even the darkness is not dark to you;
the night is as bright as the day
for darkness is as light to you.

Thought
At Christmas, chaos may roil your emotions. There may be chaos in your family or home. The clamor of the secular world may incite chaos in your heart. But chaos is overwhelmed and defeated by light. The light of God’s love is the reason for Christmas. As you slowly order the chaos of grief, darkness is overcome by the light of renewed life. It is the light of God’s eternal love that guides your way through the darkness of grief.
Prayer
God, in the gift of Christ, fear and chaos lose their say in life. I pray that the night of my grief will become as bright as the day. Amen.
