He has made everything suitable for its time; moreover he has put a sense of past and future into their minds, yet they cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 NRSV

Thought

It is a milestone in grief when your perspective shifts to include both the past and the future. Perspective is the compass that points the way as you grow through grief. Time reframes what happened into how you live forward. Time allows you to reflect with more than a rearview mirror. You are sustained by your memories, a precious part of the past. You will never, ever forget that which you share forever in trust with the one lost to you in death.

Prayer

God, I do not need to understand your divine plan for all of time. Rather, I am grateful for the sense of past and future with which you bless my mind and heart. Amen.

Assurance

My perspective now includes both the past and the future.
