Incline your ear and hear my words, and apply your mind to my teaching... So that your trust may be in the LORD, I have made them known to you today—yes, to you. Proverbs 22:17, 19 NRSV

Thought

The weather changes. The earth is still. The air grows cold as the gray-green water of the lake roils in confused waves. The gentle noise of the wind overlays the sound of water gurgling over a nearby fountain. This is a backdrop of life that invites active listening for God’s voice speaking to you. At your own place of quiet listening, reflect and trust. Be assured that on this day of rest, God speaks to you, beloved child.

Prayer

God, my soul is at rest this day in the quiet of your teaching. May I listen, hear, and meditate on you, even as you call me by name today. Amen.

Assurance

I believe that God’s words are made known to me today—yes, to me.
