Thought

Adjustment in grief is adapting to your environment, to others, and to life within yourself. Until the death of your loved one, your life may have been entrenched in daily routine, familiar people, and comfortable relationships. You learn through the experience of grief that you are not in control of circumstances, either in life or in death. Yet one thing you can control is your willingness to adapt. Adapting is a process of slow and, at times, laborious transformation.

Prayer

God, as grief compels me to adjust, I understand that I also must adapt my thoughts to better live in your will rather than in mine. I pray for a spirit that is good and acceptable and perfect to you. Amen.

Assurance

When I adapt, I am transformed, and my mind is renewed.
