“You’re blessed when you care. At the moment of being ‘care-full,’ you find yourselves cared for.” Matthew 5:7 The Message
On the long journey through the valley of the shadow of death, you have experienced many variations on the theme of care. There were perhaps moments when you did not care about anyone or anything except the searing pain of sorrow. There were times when it was easier to be apathetic than to care about life and the future. Yet throughout the seasons of grief, you were enfolded by the care of others and, above all else, by the care of God. Now is the moment to be care-full. “Freely you have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8 NIV).
God, thank you that my heart is ready and able to care again. You have blessed me with your faithful care. May I give the gift of care in your name to others. Amen.
I am filled with care in grateful response to the care I have received in grief.
