Therefore, let those suffering in accordance with God’s will entrust themselves to a faithful Creator, while continuing to do good. 1 Peter 4:19 NRSV

Thought

Grief is, indeed, suffering. Although it may be always difficult to reconcile death with God’s will, from the perspective of mature grief you appreciate God’s faithfulness to you throughout the physical, emotional, and spiritual trials of loss and pain. Entrusting is an investment of your personal capital. Like all investments, there is some risk. Yet there is no better trustee than God, your faithful Creator.

Prayer

God, you are the faithful Creator. I see you reflected in life all around me. May I risk the investment of entrusting myself wholly to your loving care. Amen.

Assurance

I will continue to do good as I rebuild trust.
