Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy. 1 Corinthians 4:2 NRSV

Thought

God has entrusted to you the greatest of all gifts: the gift of life. You are the steward of your life. You are in charge of how you use it and how you spend it. A trustworthy steward has a single-minded commitment to the highest and best use of that which has been entrusted. Grief inspires stewardship of your life because you have experienced the opposite extreme—the death of your loved one. Live in the trust of stewardship.

Prayer

God, because I have grieved in death I better appreciate the gift of life. May I live in gratitude as a trustworthy steward. Amen.

Assurance

I will use the gift of life entrusted to my stewardship both wisely and well.
