“The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock.” Matthew 7:25 NRSV

Thought

The most essential part of any structure is a sound foundation. When your life is deconstructed by death, your structure may seem near total collapse. The tremors of loss quake the bedrock of your soul. Yet you stand, your footing secured by the unshakeable foundation that never fails. The sacred ground on which you rebuild cannot be destroyed. It is indestructible.

Prayer

God, you are the foundation on which I build. I am grateful that you never fall, you never fail, and you never change. Amen.

Assurance

The faithfulness of God is the rock on which I resolve to build.
