For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die;... a time to break down, and a time to build up. Ecclesiastes 3:1-3 NRSV

Thought

Some basic principles of construction must be followed for the success of your rebuilding project. There is a plan to follow. There is a design, either conventional or free-form. There are construction steps that must occur in sequential order. As structure takes form, the plan may change. Your structure may be altered by circumstance—remarriage, infirmity, or even death. You change the plan; you try again. You build forward. You reorder your life so that it feels like a comfortable, emotional home.

Prayer

God, in grief I understand better the order and rhythm of life, even in death. I am grateful that through your grace I am at last ready for the season to build up. Amen.

Assurance

I am rebuilding my life into a place I want to live.
