Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32 NRSV

Thought

When you forgive others, you give the gift of grace. The embodiment of grace is the love of God in Christ. In forgiveness, your grief-hardened heart is overwhelmed by the spirit of kindness. At once it becomes tender and forgiving, eager to put the misdeeds of the past behind. There is strength and cleansing in forgiveness. This is the exit door of grief.

Prayer

God, may I be kind and tender-hearted to others, ready to forgive even as you forgive me in Christ. Amen.

Assurance

In forgiveness I experience personal restoration.
