If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment. Job 36:11 NIV

Thought

When you realize that you again feel some contentment in life, you acknowledge with gratitude and perhaps relief that the hard-fought struggle with grief is over. As you abandon the defensiveness of grief, life slowly shifts to sustained contentment. Your spirit is open again to new possibilities. You are ready to go forth and live in the spiritual prosperity of obedience and service.

Prayer

God, in grief I sense the need for obedience and service in order to at last find contentment. I pray for a calm spirit focused on your promises for life. Amen.

Assurance

I resolve to spend the rest of my years in contentment.
