Mental: Day 1

O LORD, you have searched me and known me.
Psalm 139:1 NRSV

Thought

Acceptance is, in part, a slow metamorphosis of the mind. The mental processing of grief occurs simultaneously, though perhaps not precisely in tandem, with the physical, emotional, and spiritual acceptance of death. Acceptance is retraining your mind to accommodate both the absence and abiding presence of your loved one.

Prayer

God, you search me anew each day. You know me like no other. Enrich my mind with the peace of your presence. Amen.

Assurance

I reach a turning point when grief releases its insistent hold on my mind.
