“I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”
Thought
Easter proclaims God’s triumph over death in the resurrection of Christ from the grave. Easter proclaims God’s love for you. Easter proclaims the promise of everlasting life. Because Christ lives, you live. Because Christ lives, those who believe live on after death. Easter is your faith for today and your hope for tomorrow. Easter is the victory that overcomes grief. “‘Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.’” (Luke 24:5 NRSV)
Prayer
God, in you is resurrection and life. The message of Easter assures me that my loved is not dead but lives eternally with you. Thank you for the victory over death in Christ. Amen.
