But those who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles.
Isaiah 40:31 NRSV
When you wait for the Lord, in time your strength will be renewed. Think about an eagle soaring through the sky, its wings outstretched. An eagle can fly high, soar continually, and stay higher longer than other birds because its wings have great lifting power. In grief, God provides the lifting power. As you accept and soar, God renews your strength.
God, in acceptance, I long for renewed strength. As I rest my soul from grief today, I pray for the lifting power of your grace so that I may again soar in life. Amen.
God gives me lifting power to soar with wings like an eagle—upward toward God.
