He gives strength to the weary

Thought
Even under the best circumstances, it is exhausting to struggle with anything or anyone. Yet trying is an obligation of grief. But there is no guarantee that effort alone will ease the void once filled by the love and energy of your loved one. It will always matter to you that you have loved and lost; it will never not matter. You must struggle and try in order to survive.
Prayer
God, I now understand more about the cause and effect of my struggle. I am weak and weary from the effort to defend my sorrow. I am grateful for the sustaining strength and power of your love and grace. Amen.
Assurance
Struggle moves me from the defensiveness of grief to quiet confidence and renewed self-assurance.
