Contentment: Day 4

Of course, there is great gain in godliness combined with contentment.

Thought

Contentment is a place of emotional neutral. It is neither the overwhelming sorrow of darkest grief nor the excitement of great hope for the future. Contentment is a momentary resting place for your soul where you pause for refreshment after the dynamic turbulence of active grief. Contentment is learning again to exhale, even as you inhale the sweet smell of new life that awaits you.

Prayer

God, you show me godliness within contentment. I am grateful for the refreshment of my life in your spirit. Amen.
