Courage: Day 1

For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7 RSV

Thought

Courage is heroic and inspiring. The word courage is derived from the Latin word cor, meaning “heart.” Courage is your outward response to your inner fear; it is your fear turned inside out. In grief, you transform fear into courage by doing that which you fear. Then you become stronger. Your simultaneous challenge is to deconstruct fear and reconstruct courage in faith. What are your fears that need to be expressed as courage?

Prayer

God, grief is, indeed, a test of courage. I pray for faith to walk fearlessly with you into the unknown way ahead. Amen.

Assurance

The faithfulness of God fortifies my courage.
