Eternity: Day 7

“Very truly, I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and does not come under judgment, but has passed from death to life.”

John 5:24 NRSV

Thought

Faith is belief without evidence. The modern world constantly bombards you with ideas and suggestions that you hear and accept, likely at face value. But do you believe everything you hear? The message of God’s saving grace in Christ is the faith of belief without evidence. In eternal life there is life without death. “And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son” (1 John 5:11 NRSV).

Prayer

God, on this day of rest for my soul, I rejoice in the gift of eternal life. I am grateful that in you, death passes to life. Amen.

I am grateful for the gift of eternal life in Christ.
