The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a land of deep darkness— on them light has shined.
Isaiah 9:2 NRSV
The invisible framework of a tunnel is an apt metaphor for God’s unseen presence at work in your life. In grief, God is the foundation that holds and supports you. There are obstacles and stops along the way through the darkness of grief, yet you trust God, the infrastructure, to keep you safe. As you emerge again from the dark place that is grief, light slowly bathes the end of the tunnel in the golden warmth of hope.
God, you have led my walk through the land of deep darkness. I am grateful for the steady beacon of your light in Christ. Amen.
A great light shines on my darkness.
