Forgiving Others: Day 7

“If you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Matthew 6:15 NRSV

Thought

Family dysfunction, separation, and estrangement may be part of the fallout of grief. Often this is caused by human, free-will choices and decisions. Despite the representations of advertising, there are no perfect families. There may be no other way to practice forgiveness except to move beyond and let go of situations and people along the rough road through grief. Forgive others from the perspective of your vision of the future.

Prayer

God, my heart is open to forgive others. On this day of rest, may my soul find its center in your divine forgiveness. Amen.

Assurance

I repair relationships when I forgive.
