God's Plan: Day 1
Trust in the LORD with all your heart. . .
Proverbs 3:5a NRSV
Thought
You know what it is to say to your loved one, “I love you with all of my heart.” The words echo in your heart from that time in life when they expressed the love of your relationship. You know what it is to love with all of your heart. Yet you may find it difficult to trust with all of your heart. Because of the pain of grief, you may be reluctant to entrust to God all of your heart—all of your broken heart. No corners reserved, no unopened doors, no reservations. Not half-hearted, but wholehearted trust. Trust with all of your heart.
Prayer
God, you ask me to trust you with all of my heart. In grief it feels easier to love you than to trust you, yet your grace proves that it is impossible to love without trust. May I trust you with all of my broken heart. Amen.
Assurance
I know that my heart is large and loving without the mantle of grief.
