God's Plan: Day 5

And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.
Psalm 9:10 NRSV

Thought

On the upward bound ascent of the journey through grief, it is important to stay in step with God rather than anticipate God’s plan. When you walk forward in trust, you may feel for a while as though you are constantly lagging behind, grasping for God’s outstretched hand ahead. There are moments of renewed self-reliance along the way when you want to take charge rather than trust in God, walking patiently hand in hand. If you get ahead of God’s plan, you miss the moment of perfect trust in God’s perfect plan executed in perfect timing for your life ahead.

Prayer

God, because of your unfailing faithfulness to me through the dark days of grief, I seek you with greater trust than ever before in my life. I am grateful that you have never forsaken me. I know your name and put my trust in you. Amen.

Assurance

There is no greater trust than to walk hand in hand with God.
