Grief is Faith - Perspective

Whatever is born of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world, our faith.
1 John 5:4 NRSV

Thought

As you mature in faith through grief, you learn more about the need for prayer and the effect of prayer in the quiet of your soul. You rediscover courage through the power of encouragement. You are encouraged, and in faith you extend your heart to encourage others. You begin to rebuild your life again. Reconstruction is the work of faith. In the saving grace of God through Christ, you receive the victory that conquers the world. This is the life of faith beyond the broken heart. “And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life” (1 John 5:20 NRSV).

Prayer

God, on the journey through grief you have kept the faith with me. May I serve you in the world with the mature faith cultivated by grief. Amen.

Assurance

In my faith there is victory over death and grief.
