Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1 NRSV
Grief is faith. Faith is the elevator of trust. Faith is the light of God that guides your way through the dark passage of grief. Faith helps you see that death is a part of life and not a catastrophe aimed at you alone. In grief, faith teaches that you must learn to die if you would learn to live. When your belief about death is grounded in faith, then and only then can you live in soul-saturating peace and joy.
God, I know that faith includes trust and yet is so much more than trust alone. Although I cannot see it, I am certain of your love. Grow my faith as I mature away from grief. Amen.
God is transforming my grief into a deeper, richer faith.
