Grief is Growth - Preparation

For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 NRSV

Thought

Grief is growth. Growth is a choice. Grief offers you two possibilities. You can grow, or you can remain rooted in a physical and emotional past that no longer exists. When you resist growth, you may easily succumb to the past, spending your days in sadness, frustration, and self-pity. Growth moves you to a new place that inspires reinvestment in the future. You grow spiritually through grief when you allow the forward dynamic of faith to propel you away from the past toward the light of new life.

Prayer

God, I know that you have a plan for me. Thank you for the promise of a future with hope. Amen.

Assurance

Life unfolds when I dare to grow.
