Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what is seen? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
Romans 8:24-25 NRSV
Hope is invisible. It is more than an aspiration or a heartfelt desire. Hope is born of your spirit enlivened by faith. You cannot see hope, but you know what it feels like to hope. Without hope, life is bland and uninspired. Hope is the salt of life that flavors; it is the seasoning that adds spice to your expectation of life. “For who hopes for what is seen?” Hope in God.
God, you teach me to hope through healing. You lift my heart in confidence for the future. You inspire my hope with assurance. You empower my life with your faithfulness. I give you thanks that I again hope. Amen.
I hope for what is unseen and wait for it with patience.
