Individuate: Day 1

For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another.
Romans 12:4-5 NRSV

Thought

What does it mean to individuate? In the context of grief it means to reclaim the part of yourself given wholly and without reservation to the one loved and lost in death. Reclamation in no way diminishes your abiding love for the deceased. Rather, it affirmatively claims that love, which is multiplied and blessed by the relationship you shared, in order to reinvest in others.

Prayer

God, somewhere along life’s way I seem to have lost my own identity. Teach me again who I am and what my function is in the body of your believers. Amen.

Assurance

I am still who I am.
