Joy: Day 4

“Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.”

Thought

At last grief turns to joy when life blossoms in unexpected ways that bring hope for the future. Grief turns to joy with the birth of a child or grandchild. Grief turns to joy in moments that celebrate love. Grief turns to joy with a new partner for the rest of life’s journey. And finally, grief turns to joy when at last we are reunited with the one we have grieved in life and in death. From grief comes joy.

Prayer

God, you have led me through grief toward the hope of new life. I rejoice in the promise of eternal reunion in you. Amen.

Joy cannot be taken away from me.
