Spiritual: Day 2
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.
Psalm 23:1 RSV
Thought
The experience of grief is often referred to as a journey. A journey is usually longer and more difficult than a short trip. When it begins, you do not know the destination of your grief journey. Have you ever set out on a trip without some idea of where you were going, the best way to get there, or when you would arrive? The unknown path of your journey through the valley of the shadow of death makes the quest for spiritual acceptance of death a formidable challenge.
Prayer
God, you are my shepherd. Along the journey I have been through the valley of the shadow of death and have found your presence at every turn. In acceptance you show me the way back to life. Amen.
Assurance
My grief is a first-person journey.
