He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Psalm 23:3b RSV
Through the blind uncertainty of grief, you have crossed and now ascend from the valley of the shadow of death. Your journey through grief has been one of slow, laborious footwork. “Even though I walk . . . ” (Psalm 23:4 NIV). You were not asked to jog, run, or race but to walk. You put one foot in front of the other, sometimes only one half-step at a time. But your direction has always been forward on the road to acceptance through the valley of the shadow of death.
God, for your name’s sake I have traveled this rough, lonely road of grief. I look forward now to paths of righteousness in your abundant life ahead. Amen.
I walk forward through grief in paths of righteousness.
