God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1 NRSV
The present is a place as well as a time. Nothing is more comforting or life-affirming than the assurance of God’s presence to help you through the trouble of grief. God’s presence is reflected in the past and directed to your life here and now. Live in the present.
God, you are my refuge and strength. You go before me; you stand beside me in the trouble of grief. May I live in your presence now and always. Amen.
God is very present to me today and forever.
