The Present: Day 6
See, now is the acceptable time.
2 Corinthians 6:2 NRSV
Thought
We live in a technology-driven day and age that insists on instant gratification and quick results—now. What is now? Now is the present. Perhaps you would like for grief to be at an end now, this very minute, this very day. But grief does not follow the calendar. It is not an on-demand experience. How long your grief lasts is an intimate process of self-determination. The end of grief is a moment of personal and spiritual resolution.
Prayer
God, I would like for the pain of grief to be over now. Yet I know that you are instructing my life in the present with each new day. Thank you for your perfect timing. Amen.
Assurance
Though now may be my acceptable time, grief resists my direction.
