Because death is permanent loss, all you love and hold dear may seem irreparably damaged. You feel helpless against the effect of death on your life because your emotional, physical, and spiritual reserves are compromised and drained by the demands of grief. For a while you are a victim, focused only on the pain of grief. But as your helper, God takes your grief in hand.
